Tips to Help if You Are in an Accident
Get a police report whenever available. If you are on private property, try to get names of witnesses & phone numbers. Get the drivers license # and auto license number of others involved. Find out if those at fault have insurance & gather that information also. If your car requires towing, be sure to specify where you want the car dropped.
Contact your insurer.
If your insurer “steers” you to their direct repair facility, do some homework. Check out the shops reputation. Only allow repairs to be made at the shop you are most comfortable with. Direct repair programs can be a good thing. They are established to save time & money. Just be SURE the shop is putting your interest first & foremost.
There is no reason why your car cannot be returned to pre accident condition. The results you can expect depend entirely on each individual that handles every aspect & every detail of your repair. To best protect your investment, choose wisely! |
